This is an introductory baseball level for children aged 5-7 years old, born in 2012-2014.
The two main purposes of this level is to get children in this age group interested in the game of baseball and to begin preparing them for the next level which is Rookie. The season starts with an indoor clinic(s) in April until we go outside to the diamonds and play actual games/skill nights, weather permitting. It is our goal to provide everyone involved in the sport with a positive experience. This is accomplished by promoting active participation during practices and games. By providing players with the necessary fundamental skills during practices and games we help develop their individual and team skills; ensuring they enjoy their baseball experience.
The teams will play 2 evenings per week from 6pm - 730 pm. The objectives at this level are to focus on teaching proper throwing mechanics, fielding grounding balls, catching, hitting, and base running. Through active participation players will continue to develop their personal and team skills. Each Rally Cap team will consist of 6-9 players per team; this will make the innings go by quicker, keeping players active. It is recommended to have unlimited coaching assistants both on and off the playing field to help give children direction and we encourage parents to get involved and help out at practices and games.
