Rally Cap / Tball / Blastball

5U BlastBall (TBall)
Game Days: Tuesday and Thursday

BlastBall is a fun, simple introduction to baseball for young kids (ages 3-5) using foam bats, soft balls, and a special "honking" base to teach hitting, running, and fielding fundamentals in a non-competitive, fast-paced environment, emphasizing participation and parental involvement over scores. Players hit off a tee, run to the one base, and a fielder yells "BLAST" when they get the ball before the runner reaches it, creating continuous action without outs or complex rules.

Key Differences

  • One Base: The game uses a single "Blast Base" located at the first base position.
  • Simplified Rules: There are no outs and players simply return to the dugout after running to the Blast Base.
  • Emphasis on Fun: The focus is on fostering a positive and enjoyable experience for young players.
  • Fast-Paced Action: The game is designed to be quick and engaging, with each batter having multiple opportunities to hit and run.
  • Parent Involvement: BlastBall often relies on parent volunteers for coaching and support.

Benefits:

  • Introduces Baseball Fundamentals: BlastBall provides a gentle introduction to the basic skills of baseball.
  • Safe and Engaging: The modified equipment and simplified rules create a safe and enjoyable environment for young players.
  • Promotes Physical Activity: The fast-paced nature of the game encourages exercise and movement.
  • Builds Social Skills: Playing with others helps children develop teamwork and sportsmanship. Positive Experience: BlastBall aims to foster a love for baseball and encourage participation in the sport.

7U RALLY CAP / T-BALL

Game Days: Monday and Wednesday

https://baseball.ca/rally-cap-initiation-program

The two main purposes of this level are to get children in this age group interested in the game of baseball and to begin preparing them for the next level which is 9U. The season starts with an introduction at the beginning of the season. It is our goal to provide everyone involved in the sport with a positive experience. This is accomplished by promoting active participation during practices and games. By providing players with the necessary fundamental skills during practices and games we help develop their individual and team skills; ensuring they enjoy their baseball experience.

The teams will play 2 evenings per week from 6 pm - 730 pm. The objectives at this level are to focus on teaching proper throwing mechanics, fielding, grounding balls, catching, hitting, and base running. Through active participation, players will continue to develop their personal and team skills. Each Rally Cap team will consist of 6-9 players per team; this will make the innings go by quicker, keeping players active. Parent participation is mandatory in Rally Cap. Please expect to help on the field assisting with drills during practice and positioning players during the game.

Rally Cap utilizes a combination of coach pitch (primarily) and a batting tee if the player cannot hit 3-5 balls pitched by the coach. By the end of the season, most players are hitting off of the coach every time. Each day (Monday and Wednesday) from 6:00-7:30pm will consist of skill development (practice) followed by a mini-game where all players hit and all players field with guidance from coaches for positioning and strategy.
