This is a developmental and recreational league for players, coaches, and umpires, where having fun, as well as the development of individual player skills and team social skills, is a priority to ensure everyone involved enjoys their baseball experience. Teams consist of 11-14 players.
Teams play three times during the week; generally with two practices and one game each week. Practice days are at the discretion of the coach. The outdoor season begins the first week of May weather permitting and ends at the end of June with a playoff tournament. The season is completed before the end of the school year.
Ages: 2011-2012
Cost: $325
Location: Greater Edmonton area
Additional Information
The number of Tier 1 teams for the 2022 season will be determined at house assessments.
This option is for House League 13U players with better-than-average abilities, looking for additional practices, coaching, tournament play. They also have an optional entry into the Provincial A-Level playoffs in July.
Tier One teams will not play in the SWEMBA House league. Instead, Tier One teams will play against similarly skilled teams from other clubs in the Edmonton area in the YEGA league. Games can be on any weekday and travel to the surrounding cities will be required (for example, Devon and Le Duc). Tier One players will be identified during the house assessments. Players will be approached and will have the option to accept the invitation to the Tier One team, or play on a House Team.
Provincials Opportunity
$105 Extra fees will apply if you attend A-level provincials. This is to cover extra games and umpire fees. The A-level team is formed by combining one or more tier-1 teams of players able to play the first three weekends of July.
Interested in playing more baseball or want to join a competitive team? Consider trying out for a AA team. AA teams practice during the week and play games during Baseball Alberta scheduled weekends. Click here for more info: http://southwestedmontonbaseball.ca/division/0/4426
